Website Waves Goodbye To Straight Locks And Embraces Curls

A website dedicated to women with luscious curly hair is hoping to wave goodbye to bad hair days for good.

British Curlies is the first comprehensive resource for curly-haired women in the UK.

Launched by Keisha Jo Lawler from Maidenhead, Berkshire, the site offers help and advice on looking after curly hair. An online store has also been launched where products specially formulated for women with spirals or curls can be bought and tested.

She created the site after spending years battling against her natural curls by trying to straighten her hair.

“I wanted to create a wonderful environment where women and girls with curly hair could find products that worked,” she explained.

“I wanted a forum where users of the site could bond and meet new friends, but most of all I wanted women to feel confident about their curls – and feel beautiful.

“We’ve had to put up with years of straightening, which has been damaging our hair. It’s about time we embraced our curls and championed the glamorous coils.”

The site includes:

•    The Curl Forum, where women (no boys are allowed) with naturally curly hair of all types can meet and share information and give and receive advice on products;

•    The Curly Emporium, which sells products for curly hair;
