Thomas Cole Celebrates Regaining Investors in People Standard
An internet services company, with offices based in Chorley and Manchester, has been recognised for its outstanding management and working practices, after regaining the Investors in People standard.
Thomas Cole Internet Solutions was established in 1999 and employs 12 people across its two sites. The company provides a range of services to businesses across the UK, including web design, site optimisation and email marketing.
Launched in 1991, Investors in People is a framework of good practice that enables organisations to benchmark their own practices against a nationally recognised standard.
Achievement of the Standard is measurement against key indicators and to reach the Standard an organisation has to produce evidence in which good people development is described.
For the assessment, Thomas Cole employees were interviewed about the company’s performance in a number of key areas, including learning and development, recognition, reward, involvement and empowerment.
Investors in People commented: ‘Without exception, people felt that Thomas Cole was a great place to work, and people were clearly empowered, autonomous, competent and committed.
The report also detailed: ‘There was clear evidence throughout this review of continuous improvement at Thomas Cole in relation to both the business model and people management strategy, and this is now paying dividends on many levels. Staff recognised and appreciated these improvements, and the resulting increase in efficiency and quality of work produced.’
