The Future of Storage Comes to Cardiff

Storage Giant brings high-tech storage facility to the capital

Storage Giant, the largest independent self-storage business in Wales, has opened its latest high-tech self-storage facility on Newport Road in Cardiff, next to the McDonald’s restaurant.

The new building is one of the UK’s most technologically advanced storage facilities and offers over 700 individual storage rooms for both home owners and business users alike, as well as a customer lounge with free internet access. The building offers forty different sizes of storage rooms and also boasts a fully equipped merchandise packing area that allows customers to pack their goods prior to transportation.

The ultra high-tech facility is packed with the latest gadgets and can even boast the record for the largest number of access control keypads of any storage facility in the UK. These allow completely secure access to various parts of the building and security is further boosted by state-of-the-art biometric doorlocks, which scan fingerprints and match them against a database – meaning that only registered customers and staff can gain access.

Storage Giant is the brainchild of Welsh businessman Simon Williams, who opened his first facility in Newport in 2007: “I realised the potential in self storage whilst living in Florida, everything was so much more user-friendly over there with an emphasis on technology and customer service, all at a much lower price than in the UK,” he explains. “I brought the concept back home with me to Wales and we are now using the latest technology to make sure that people’s goods and possessions are safer than ever before. After the success of the Newport facility, Cardiff was the obvious choice for the next Storage Giant location, we will be bringing a third to Wales very soon and are aiming to go nationwide after that.”
