Text Sells for Arriba Systems

Swansea based Arriba Systems has won first prize in a national event to showcase innovative new business ideas. The web and marketing company took the top accolade at the New Start Wales 2010 Bright Idea’s Competition for their new web and SMS marketing website; www.myshortcodes.co.uk.

The company put forward the website to a panel of judges at the event at Cardiff International Arena.

Its success means the company wins £5,000 in cash and up to £30,000 in support services and products.

MyShortcodes got through the qualifying rounds of over 500 entries to be in the final six contenders, all of which then had to compete head-to-head in a Dragons Den style pitch.

Marketing Executive Jonathan Gibbs took on the challenge and gave a confident presentation in front of a live audience, answering a number of tough questions given by the panel of judges.

MyShortcodes is the brain child of Jonathan and Tracy Gibbs, local entrepreneurs from Swansea. They came up the idea after many visits to family in South Africa, where the telecoms industry is far more advanced than here in the UK.

Jonathan and Tracy realised that businesses in the UK were not making the most of mobile phone marketing opportunities by using shortcode messaging.

Shortcode messaging is a powerful marketing tool, and can give businesses the edge over their competitors.

It can efficiently and effectively increase customer enquires through a fast and simple to use SMS service.
