Talented Pupils Rise to the Challenge

Pupils and teachers at an independent school in Surrey are celebrating, after another year of impressive scholarship successes.

This year, an outstanding ten pupils at Milbourne Lodge School, in Claygate, have won scholarships to prestigious public schools. Two of the elated pupils will be moving on to Eton in September, having won highly coveted King's Scholarships, of which there are just 14 awarded every year.

The hard work of staff and pupils has also been rewarded with academic scholarships to Wellington College, King's College School, Wimbledon and Winchester. Meanwhile, other talented pupils achieved coveted music scholarships to Winchester and Hampton School, and sports scholarships to Wellington, Tonbridge and Epsom College.

Head Teacher, Stephen Illet said: “We are all delighted with the scholarship results that these boys have achieved. I am extremely proud of them, and my fantastic team of staff who have worked tirelessly to help them achieve their goals.

“Here at Milbourne Lodge we believe in setting the bar high whether it be in the classroom, the sports field or the music room and these results show that the children rise to that challenge.”

Milbourne Lodge has an unrivalled reputation in helping its pupils to gain scholarships, seeing over 100 pupils win scholarships to Eton, Winchester and St Paul's alone.
