Successful 2010 for businessman and celebrity musician
A talented Shropshire businessman and musician is celebrating, following a busy year for both his personas.
Paul Woodhead, managing director of laundry and textile rental business Telford Laundry Limited, and star of Woody’s Traditional One Man Band has become a celebrity in his own right, with this year’s highlight being an appearance on Channel 4’s ‘The 5 O’clock show’, where he taught Peter Andre to perform his own one man band.
For the fourth consecutive year, Woody’s One Man Band provided the entertainment for Stella McCartney LTD's Christmas light switch on in Mayfair. Paul was then invited to Milan to perform at Stella McCartney LTD's Christmas party for an exclusive list of Italian guests.
Paul plays a whole host of instruments including the guitar, mandolin, ukulele, spoons, bones, kazoo and anything else he can get his hands on!
Alongside his duties running Telford Laundry, in Staffordshire, Paul performs at corporate events, festivals, carnivals, societies and charity events across the UK and Europe. In 2010, he also played at Portsmouth’s Historical Dockyard Festival of Christmas, which attracted 23,500 visitors.
Paul said: “It really has been a fantastic year for both my business and one man band. It’s been great to be able to find the time to pursue my passion for music, now that the laundry has recovered from the fire last year. I‘ve been performing my one man band for over 10 years now and it proves to be very popular.”
Telford Laundry has now fully recovered from a devastating fire last year at its premises in Stafford Park, Telford. Current laundry production in December 2010 is circa 32 tonnes per week.
