Sponsorship Hits the Back of the Net for Warley Plough
A West Midlands football team is building on a strong foundation for success, after receiving a major sponsorship boost from a local businessman.
Warley Plough FC, which is based at Oldbury College of Sport, has had a fantastic season, having so far won all competitive league games they have participated in since Lee Mortimer, of Staffordshire-based Here2Serve, stepped in.
In a gesture of support for his business’ local community, Mr Mortimer decided to help out by injecting a £1,500 cash boost to the football club, which has enabled its delighted manager, Mike Ward to purchase new match and training kits, football nets and other equipment for the team.
Speaking on behalf of the club, Mike said: “The sponsorship means everything to us, because without it, there would be no team. You meet managers from other teams at the start of the season and then, come next season, the managers aren’t at the meetings, because the team has folded through lack of sponsorship.
“I can’t express how grateful we all are, not only to be sponsored, but to finally have a high profile sponsor with good financial support. The lads are over the moon with all the new kit”, he added.
Mike and Lee are firm friends and also have a well-cemented business relationship, with Mike, who is a qualified electrical engineer, frequently stepping in to offer his skills for Here2Serve.
