Sirpa Gets to Work on Employee Pain
Pain management specialists are offering businesses across the region advice and support on tackling workforce stress and chronic pain, to reduce the financial strains of employee absenteeism.
Huddersfield-based Sirpa will work with employees to address chronic pain, without the need for medication, physical interventions or surgery. The aim is to tackle the underlying causes of the problem, rather than treating the symptoms and just managing the pain.
Statistics show that five million people across the UK suffer from chronic pain each year. Back pain alone is estimated to cost the economy a massive £12.3 billion annually.
Sirpa Clinical Director, Georgie Oldfield said: “Despite current recognised treatment approaches for chronic pain, the cases continue to rise, resulting in huge costs to businesses, individuals and the economy.
“Our treatment methods can help not only individuals, but businesses who recognise the benefits of looking after their staff – helping to reduce their staff sickness absence, and the huge potential costs relating to this.”
Sirpa is currently looking for a Yorkshire-based company who would be interested in running a free pilot programme with their staff, in order to clearly demonstrate the financial savings possible within a company.
Georgie explains: “Studies show that Sirpa’s unique approach to chronic conditions can produce a recovery rate of over 70% with those people for whom neither conventional nor complementary therapies have helped.
“So far SIRPA has demonstrated the massive cost benefits to individuals who have unsuccessfully tried numerous other treatments, or have had to keep returning for treatment in order to ‘manage’ their conditions’.
“Now we are keen to work with a local company in order to demonstrate how significant this unique programme could have on sickness absence costs within a company.”
