Selco Celebrates New Premises with Big Charity Contribution
The Swansea branch of a national builders’ merchant have proudly donated £1,000 to the Lord Mayor of Swansea’s chosen charity, in appreciation of the Mayor attending the opening of its new premises.
The city’s Lord Mayor, Councillor Ioan Richard, visited Selco Builders’ Warehouse, to officially open its larger premises in Upper Fforest Way, Llansamlet.
Selco presented the Lord Mayor with a cheque for £1,000, which will be going to his chosen charity, the Swansea Hospitals Medical Wards.
Selco also donated £1,000 to local radio station, The Wave, which is raising money for its ‘Cash For Kids’ appeal. The Wave was also broadcasting live from the new branch on the morning of the opening, which took place on October 10.
Kelvin Coe, Branch Manager, said the store is extremely pleased with the chosen charities, and the success of the open day.
Mr Coe added: “I am delighted to be able to open this massive new Selco branch. I know my customers will also be pleased with the developments we have made and we are working hard to keep improving the service they receive. We’re also honoured to be donating money to local charities.”
The new branch, which is only a short distance from the old premises, is double the size. Customers will now benefit even more from bigger stocks of building materials, which are always on the shelf to take away there and then.
There are also hundreds of new products available, as well as a new kitchen and bathroom showroom.
