Selco Builds on Solid Foundations with New Appointments
A national builders merchant chain has made a number of new appointments to help the company achieve its next phase of growth and expansion.
Selco Builders Warehouse has promoted Chris Cunliffe, formerly Operations Director and Chief Operating Officer, to Managing Director. Chris has been with the company for more than 20 years, during which time he has progressed through store management, and has been part of Selco’s Senior Operational management team for nearly 15 years.
He has played a key role in the launch and development of 26 new Selco branches across the UK. As Managing Director, Chris will now be responsible for the business’ day-to-day management, trading performance and continual development.
Malcolm Aldridge has been appointed as Chairman, after serving as Managing Director for the past 16 years. He will continue to negotiate new site acquisitions, as well as retaining a key interest in Selco’s performance.
“The management changes we’ve made are to ensure we have the key people in place for the next phase of the company’s growth,” says Chris Cunliffe.
“It is particularly pleasing that we have been able to recruit for these positions from within. All the appointments have been made to colleagues who have contributed hugely to the success of Selco, and have been integral to the growth of the business,” he added.
Amongst other appointments, Chris Lyons has been appointed as Branch Operations Director - joining the main Selco Board of Directors, while Brian McConnell has been appointed as Regional Operations Manager for North-West London.
Paul Neary will be taking up the post of Regional Operations Manager of North-East London.
