RJD Interiors in hospital refurbishment success
A Staffordshire carpentry and joinery specialist has just completed work on a successful £2.5 million refurbishment project at London’s Chelsea and Westminster Hospital.
Sub-contractors RJD Interiors Ltd, based in Tamworth, worked alongside Longcross Construction Ltd on the refurbishment of the Adult Outpatients department.
The project took around four months to complete and was finished on schedule thanks to the excellent working relationship between the two companies.
RJD Interiors Ltd fitted the refurbished Adult Outpatients department with medical cabinets, worktops and shelves, fire signs and extinguishers as well as supplying fitted lockers, bench seating and baby changing units.
Daran Jones, managing director at RJD Interiors Ltd, said: “It was a very successful project and we both worked extremely well together. We are looking to build more positive relationships with Longcross Construction Ltd in the future to deliver yet more fit out projects on schedule.”
It was the second time the two companies had worked together after both successfully completed the fit out of the 1st, 2nd and 9th floors at St Mary’s Hospital in Paddington, London.
Darren Hazel, project manager at Longcross Construction Limited, said: “We have a fantastic working relationship. RJD Interiors Ltd were instrumental in ensuring the fit out of the project was completed on time. From appointment, they were proactive and were keen to ensure that they took full control of the individual supply only packages that we had let.
“They obtained all supplier contact details from ourselves and coordinated all material deliveries and chased any shortages. The whole installation process was methodical and without problems. RJD Interiors Ltd are a breath of fresh air and we will be working with them on all future projects.”
RJD Interiors Ltd provides interior fit out and refurbishment services mainly as a carpentry and joinery sub-contractor to a number of sectors including Hospitality and Leisure, Education, Healthcare and Commercial. The company, based at Selker Drive, Amington Fields, Tamworth, offer a complete package which includes supply, unload and distribution of case goods, fit out and handover of finished areas.
