Ready to grow?
A high-profile business show comes to Bristol next month.
The Business Growth show has been touring the UK for the last 12 months - taking in most of the major cities like London, Birmingham, Manchester, Cardiff and Edinburgh.
The event in Bristol - which takes place at the Lakewood Conference Centre, in Blagdon, on Thursday, December 3 - will be the last show to take place this year.
The idea behind the show is to give businesses a chance to make new contacts.
Central to the event is a series of lighthearted speed networking games which allow delegates to pitch their business to potential customers in a quick and efficient way.
Former Army man Mark Linton, the managing director of show organisers Corkscrew Events, will be holding the stop watch to make sure the sessions run smoothly.
Two business seminars will also be held throughout the day. One will focus on how to gain a competitive advantage through intellectual property and the other on the future of marketing - given by event sponsors Business Link South West.
More than 5,000 delegates have attended the Business Growth Show so far this year and more than 1,000 have taken part in the speed networking games - and now it has proven so popular that Corkscrew Events are franchising the model so more businesses can benefit.
Brad Burton, managing director of 4Networking, said: "You get to meet people - it's as simple as that. The Business Growth Show allows you to get contacts and get business."
Tracy Peddle, marketing director of Intercity Mobile, added: "Networking is key to what we do, as a sales tool its excellent as we’re able to talk to new businesses, particularly growing businesses, which is what The Business Growth Show is all about."
