Raising Money for Children – It’s Everyone’s Cup of Tea

Hundreds of businesses will gather in London during the first week of February for a unique opportunity to raise money for a National charity – and all they have to do is drink tea or coffee.

The Business Growth Show, a popular UK business networking event is coming to the MWB Exchange in Victoria on February 4th, and those attending are being asked to give up any small change whilst enjoying the beverages, which are sponsored by the venue.

All donations raised will benefit The Variety Club, a charity that helps sick, disabled and disadvantaged children throughout the UK.

Mark Linton, Managing Director of The Business Growth Show, believes attendees will be keen to get on board. "These events are all about conversations, so understandably we get through hundreds of cups of coffee every time!" he laughs. "The idea behind this effort is to help London business people give something back to the community. Every time someone pours themselves a drink they will be directly impacting the lives of these children."

The Variety Club has already enjoyed significant success, raising over £200 million over in past 60 years. Their spokespeople include A-list celebrities such as Alesha Dixon. Still, the charity strongly believes that it’s the smaller donations that keep them going, and they’re keen to work with smaller businesses to help their cause.
