Paintball project to provide 'Help for Heroes'

A paintball centre in Staffordshire is rallying locals to raise valuable funds for ex-servicemen who have been wounded in combat.

Project Paintball, based near Penkridge, in Stafford, is hosting a charity paintballing tournament on Saturday 29th January, to raise money for UK charity ‘Help for Heroes’.  Local businesses and groups of friends, or anyone who wishes to support the worthy cause are invited to form teams of five players and enlist in the knockout competition.

Explaining the motivation for the charity tournament, Richard Tomkinson, proprietor at Project Paintball said:

“Paintballing is all about having a laugh, in a mock-war zone, but in reality, war is far from fun. We want to do something to support those who have experienced the harsh realities of true war, so 'Help for Heroes' is the ideal cause for us to get behind.”

There is a fantastic prize up for grabs for each player in the winning team: 12-months' membership to the Project Paintball VIP club, a free pass for another day’s paintballing and a Project Paintball t-shirt.

Every team that enters will receive all equipment, a free light lunch, refreshments and 500 free paintballs to get started with. As an added incentive to encourage people to come along and support Help for Heroes, Project Paintball is also slashing the price of its paintballs, so players will literally get more bang for their buck.

Teams knocked out at an early stage need not worry, as they can take part in the numerous other games being played out throughout the day.
