New Wigston convenience store creates jobs

The residents of the leafy Leicestershire town of Wigston saw the opening of a new convenience store last week. The new One Stop store, based on Aylestone Lane, just outside the town centre, opened its doors to customers with a promise of being ‘the best for customers in the neighbourhood’.

The official opening of the store was a fun filled occasion with columns of balloons welcoming shoppers who also received freebies courtesy of Cadbury’s, Britvic and the Daily Mail.

Economic boost

The new store has also given the local economy a welcome boost after bosses hired eight employees to run the new store which will serve more than 1300 local households.

The store, which will trade seven days a week, will open from 7am till 10pm from Monday to Saturday and 8am to 10pm on Sunday. Facilities on offer for customers include a free internal cash machine, E Top Up, National Lottery and Paypoint. Customers will also benefit from free parking facilities directly in front of the store.
