New store is a convenience for Accrington

Shopping got a little more convenient for local residents, with the opening of a new store last Wednesday.

The new One Stop store, on the Blackburn Road, Accrington, opened its doors with the promise of being ‘the best for customers in the neighbourhood’.

The local economy has also received a welcome boost, after bosses hired nine new employees to serve the 1,918 households surrounding the new store.

The One Stop store, which will trade seven days a week, is open from 6am till 11pm. Facilities on offer for customers include a free-to-use cash machine, E Top-Up, National Lottery and PayPoint.

Lee Alderson, Store Manager said: “We’re delighted to have opened the store. Our long opening hours, coupled with fantastic offers on a daily basis will ensure we have something for everyone. The One Stop chain offers great value and great customer service and I am confident my team and I will be able to bring that and more to local people.”

The One Stop store chain has an enviable retail record and operates stores across England and Wales – many of which serve the needs of small urban communities. The chain employs more than 7000 people across its operations.
