Marxist Theory Boosts Capitalist Practice

Business owners can learn how to improve their bottom line by attending a workshop in Lancaster, delivered by an unorthodox but brilliant entrepreneur.

Simon Biltcliffe, who took Webmart from a £10,000 start-up in 1996 to a £35m world leader in print management, will present the session entitled ‘Marxism + Capitalism = Success’, at Lancaster’s Storey Creative Industries Centre on September 14.

During the talk, which is part of a series of business master classes run by Lancaster-based Showing Off Academy, Simon will reveal the methods behind his ambitious plans to build further on Webmart’s success, by growing turnover to £100m, without employing extra staff.

Joanne Allday, the event organiser and Director of Showing Off Academy explained: “Simon has shaped Webmart around his personal ethos that Marxism and capitalism together are unbeatable. His company’s success is shared both by employees and by the less fortunate, through a charitable trust.”

After investing heavily in people development and training, Simon also realised that harnessing the power of technology would be key to his company’s success, freeing staff for more important added-value activities.

“The Master class offers a unique and thought-provoking insight into running a successful business. Simon is an absolutely fantastic speaker and I urge business owners and entrepreneurs not to miss out on such a rare opportunity to listen to his ideas”, added Joanne.
