Making a splash - website targets boating community
A WEBSITE dedicated to life on the water is making waves in the boating community.
The Marine Guide, which was created by journalists and boating experts, claims to be the most comprehensive reference point for water lovers and travel enthusiasts on the internet.
The site contains an enormous directory of boating-related businesses and services, with more than 9,000 approved contacts - from boat builders to charter companies, surveyors to corporate events.
It is hoped the innovative portal - strapline: 'making life on the water even better' - will attract a new generation of young professionals and their families to the charms of life at sea.
But the site, which is updated weekly with new posts, striking images and in-depth features, is aimed at anyone who enjoys travelling, attending boating events, or just eating out and shopping.
A luxury travel section called 'Mad About', focuses on a different exotic travel destination every month, taking readers on a romantic journey as well as offering important practical information.
Crucially the site acts as an online meeting place for boating enthusiasts who can share their experiences, tips and photos with other users - as well as connecting users with key businesses.
The Marine Guide - which also has sections on gadgets and fashions - already has a growing presence in various forums and social networking sites such as Facebook and Twitter.
