Local pub makes PACT
The Beacon Tree pub in Dagenham is holding a series of events throughout August to raise funds for their local charity, Parents of Autistic Children Together (PACT).
The pub has already successfully raised £4,000 from raffles, and plans to sell further tickets through its popular Thursday and Sunday night pub quizzes and Monday afternoon cash-bingo sessions.
The final raffle prize draw will be taking place at the pub on the 27th of August.
Keith Robinson, Pub Manager, said: “This is an opportunity for us to do something for our local charity, whilst giving our customers a fun day out.”
There will also be a 'Deal or No Deal' style competition hosted at the pub, where selected participants have the chance to win up to £1,000. All they have to do is select one of twelve keys, in the hope that it is the actual key for the box containing the money. If no one wins, the prize money will be rolled over to the following week, and the number of keys will also decrease, making the chances of winning greater.
In order to raise extra funds, the Beacon Tree, in conjunction with S3 Promotions, has been displaying pictures of football players and selling them to customers. Recently the pub sold a photo of Wayne Rooney, which fetched £80.00. S3 promotions has been set up and run by ex-West Ham and Charlton football players Steve Jones, Steve Tween and Steve Speroni. As well as selling photographs of players, the company also gives fans the opportunity to meet with iconic ex-footballers.
PACT offers a variety of services to autistic children and their parents, including youth club provision; free information and advice; support group; one-to-one sessions for carers; and football workshop to name a few.
