Lobster apprentices secure cash for local charity
Staff from a local property lettings firm recently took part in a gruelling 24-hour charity challenge, which even Sir Alan Sugar would have been proud of.
Workers from Lobster Lettings, based in Wigan, took part in the apprentice style competition at the Holiday Inn in Preston.
The challenge saw the team compete against other business teams from across Lancashire with the aim of raising money for charity.
Claire Moffitt, Maria Fieldhouse and Louise Foster, who all have managerial roles at the company, took part on behalf of Lobster Lettings.
The team adopted the name Lobster Loonies and during the 24 hours, had to develop a product to market, and then sell with all proceeds going to charity.
The team decided to develop a brand of soap. They had to create an advert local radio station Rock FM before uploading the video to You Tube.
The final stage of the event saw them go in to Preston town centre to sell the bar of soap to members of the public.
In total the team raised £203.74 for the Rosemere Cancer Foundation.
Claire Moffitt, Operations Manager said: “It was a really exciting and rewarding challenge which we all thoroughly enjoyed."
“As challenging as it was, the thought that we were raising money for charity really spurred us on. It was a real team effort. We were all delighted to have raised this money for such a worthy cause.”
Lobster Lettings provide an expert property management and letting service to both landlords and tenants. The company offer a wide range of properties to rent in Wigan, Bolton, St Helens, Warrington, Preston and other surrounding areas.
The company plan to open 2 new offices in Warrington & Preston. The first of which being in Warrington at the beginning of May 2011.
