Lancashire businesswoman sets record with CIM Fellowship

The Managing Director of Lancaster-based Showing Off Ltd, has been confirmed as one of the few global female Fellows of the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM).

There are currently 2249 global Fellows of the CIM, of which only 317 are female. At 35, Joanne Allday is the youngest female Fellow of the CIM in Lancashire, where there are now four.

Joanne’s CIM Fellowship was awarded following 15 years of experience working within the Marketing sector, including six in her current position as MD of Marketing Consultancy, Showing Off Ltd and close to ten years as a member of the CIM.

Joanne said: “It's been a lot of hard work, but marketing is such an important part of business strategy and growth that the qualifications are worth the effort and will help improve the standards of marketing assistance across the UK. Marketing is even more important in the current economic climate".

In addition to her achievements within the Marketing sector, Joanne’s participation in numerous community-related activities has been instrumental in forwarding her application for Fellowship of the CIM. These activities include running free marketing seminars for businesses across the North West and mentoring at Lancaster University and for a local charity, Cumbria Community Foundation.
