Inspirational Carly Leads the Way
An inspirational young entrepreneur from London has joined the ranks of John F Kennedy and Elvis Presley, to be named as one of only a handful of outstanding youngsters from around the globe.
Carly Ward (21), from Hemel Hempstead, spends her time motivating young people to start their own businesses, but has now been shortlisted in the top 30 of the 160 nominees originally put forward for this year’s Ten Outstanding Young Persons (TOYP) Award.
The award, run by Junior Chamber International (JCI), aims to recognise young people who have excelled in their chosen fields to create positive change, inspiring the next generation to be better leaders.
Young men and women can be nominated in one of ten categories in the TOYP Awards. Up to ten honourees will be selected by an international panel of distinguished judges, regardless of the category they were entered for.
Carly, who has already been recognised with an Inspirational Women in Business Award, has a 12-step programme for success and runs the YES Network, which is delivered online and in classrooms. She also won the Haines Watts Young Entrepreneur of the Year Special Achievement Award, in 2010.
She said: “I feel very honoured to be recognised for the hard work and effort that has gone in to starting the Young Entrepreneur Society.
“It’s my passion to help other young people succeed, believe and achieve, and I really hope I make it to the final ten, as it will give me a bigger platform to really be able to scale up the work we are doing and extend it to more young people, creating more entrepreneurs”, she added.
