Helen Revs Up for Hospice Fundraising

A Furness businesswoman is helping to raise money for a local hospice, whilst raising the profile of local businesses.

Helen Penny, owner of thebestof Barrow and Furness, is raising money for St Mary’s Hospice, by taking to the roads in a specially sign-written mini, with sponsors’ details emblazoned across it.

Always on the lookout for the next best way of cost-effectively promoting local companies, Helen took inspiration for her latest idea from the well-known Red Bull minis, and the rapidly growing fleet of promotional cars operated by other thebestof franchise owners across the UK.

Helen said: “These cars are becoming really well known now. There are around 40 thebestof cars being driven around the country. It’s like a mobile billboard being driven around, promoting numerous companies.

“I do plenty of miles up and down the A590 and M6, so advertisers are guaranteed for their business to be seen by thousands of people”, she added.

All profits from the venture, will go towards St Mary’s Hospice. The hospice, based in Ulverston, gives incredible support to people with life-limiting illnesses.

Zoe Guest, Operations Manager at St Mary’s Hospice, said: “We are delighted that Helen has decided to support St Mary’s Hospice through her new bestof car.
