Half Classroom Time With New Childcare Course
Learning to save a child’s life is essential training for anyone working with youngsters, and a new course is helping to teach these vital skills, efficiently and effectively.
The typical two day, 12 hour first aid course, a vital requirement of Ofsted, NCMA and SureStart, often forces childminders and other workers to do the course over a weekend, or lose two days off work.
Now, Colchester-based ProTrainings is offering a unique paediatric first aid course, which includes online modules, helping students avoid one day away from work.
The course uses the latest online video websites, to allow the student to complete one day of the course online, and then only attend one day in the classroom with ProTraining’s approved instructor, where the practical side is completed, and any questions are answered.
A series of quiz questions are asked in order to generate a free certificate. On completion of the multiple-choice test, ProTrainings official wall certificate and wallet card will be sent in the post.
The course also gives the student access for eight months, so they can view the videos and any new ones, even after they have passed. All courses also include a free student manual in PDF form, to support learning.
Students also receive a free weekly video refresher email, to keep their skills fresh, and the latest news on first aid on the emails.
Tracy Mason, a childminder and nursery worker who successfully completed the course, said: “Paediatric first aid allowed me to complete my course and only lose one day away from my family. My weekends are special and I was not looking forward to having to spend two days on a course like last time.”
“Doing the course using online videos let me complete part one at my pace around my family and childminding," added Tracy.
