Hair Today, Gone Tomorrow
Big-hearted fundraiser, Lee Gamlin is waxing lyrical about his latest fundraising feat, after undergoing a full body wax to raise money for Red Nose Day.
The 21-year old from Merthyr Tydfil smooth-talked his friends, family and customers at the Floors-2-Go store on Dowlais Top, where he is Assistant Manager, into sponsoring his effort.
After completing the hair-raisingly painful challenge, Lee had not a single hair left on his body, except for the ones on his head! He was delighted with the outcome, having raised an impressive £137 for the charity. He said:
“I wanted to do something funny because it was Red Nose Day and I thought that a full body wax would make people laugh. It's also a bit daring, I don't think many people would be up for it!”
In addition to the sponsorship he received for his effort from friends, family and Floors-2-Go customers, Lee was even rewarded with support from people in the street, after approaching them with his plan.
“It was really painful, “commented Lee. “I don’t think I’d do it again but I got half way through and thought I may as well just carry on!” he added.
