Hair-Raising Awareness Campaign for Children’s Cancer Charity
Benchmarx, specialist kitchens and joinery brand has added some funk to December, by using wild and wacky hair designs to raise awareness for the UK’s leading children’s cancer charity, CLIC Sargent.
Benchmarx has unleashed the charity’s messy hair campaign, The Big Buzz, to boost donations and awareness of the work carried out by the charity to improve the lives of children and young people with cancer and their families. The Big Buzz campaign asks people to get extra creative with their hairstyles throughout December and encourage sponsorship from friends and family for their funky hairdos.
Many children who are diagnosed with cancer undergo treatment that can lead to hair loss and ‘The BIG Buzz’ encourages people across the UK to ‘be a life-shaver’ or take part in other ‘hair-raising fun’, as a visible way to show support and raise as much money as possible.
CLIC Sargent’s National Events Manager, Katie Turton said: “Whether you’re going it alone, or taking part with friends, family or colleagues, by simply changing your hair you can help CLIC Sargent change lives for children and young people with cancer. “Every pound raised for The Big Buzz will help CLIC Sargent be there with the clinical, practical and emotional support that young cancer patients and their families need.”
Every day, 10 children and young people in the UK hear the devastating news they have cancer. CLIC Sargent provides clinical, practical and emotional support to help children and their families cope with cancer and get the most out of life.
Benchmarx Managing Director, Chris Larkin, said: “We thought that the Make a Buzz campaign was a fun and engaging way of supporting a problem that is a real issue for children receiving treatment. Our staff wanted to get involved and will be raising awareness in December in branches with our customers. We’re looking forward to seeing some of the results.”
Whether it’s a shaved head, spikes like Jedward or some festive colour; those wanting to raise money for Clic Sargent can donate in all Benchmarx branches or visit: www.virginmoneygiving.com/team/BenchmarxBigBuzz
