Greenfield Gives South Wales Something to Smile About

A Dinas Powys-based dental practice is hunting for South Wales' sunniest smile, as part of its efforts to promote good dental health.

The light-hearted competition is being run by Greenfield Dental Care, to coincide with National Smile Month, which runs until June 15.

The surgery is also hosting an oral health promotion day at Mermaid Quay this Saturday (11th), where visitors can get free expert advice and product samples from its team of dental professionals.

David Woodsford BDS, from Greenfield Dental Care explained: “It goes without saying that good oral hygiene is one of the most important things you can do for your teeth and gums. However, that all-important dental health check will also include screening for oral cancer, problems with jaw movement, gum problems, mouth ulcers as well as tooth decay.

“Good oral health is important to your overall wellbeing and can prevent other problems from occurring. The oral health promotion day is an opportunity for people to get some advice about how to really care for their teeth and gums.”

The winner of the South Wales' best smile competition will receive a year's free preventative dental care, free 'in-surgery' tooth whitening and an Oral B electric toothbrush. There will also be three runner-up prizes of a professional sparkle clean.

Greenfield Dental Care's oral health promotion day takes place at its Mermaid Quay surgery on June 11 from 10am until 5pm, where dental practitioners will be on hand to give oral health advice and hand out free samples.
