Family-run tool supplier taps online market

A COMPANY that sells industrial tools and workwear has launched an online superstore.

William Moore, based in Preston, is behind toolguru.co.uk - an internet site selling thousands of products such as power tools, hand tools, protective clothing and fasteners.

The site, which stocks a range of household names like DeWalt, Snickers, Hitachi, Milwaukee and SIP, has a range of offers including 20 per cent off Snickers Workwear and a Hitachi Cordless Drill for £179.

A team of experienced staff members working behind the scenes are able to offer expert advice.

The company, which supplies both trade and retail customers, was established in 1946 by William Moore. Gary and Marcus Moore are now joint managing directors of the family-based firm

The website is a far cry from the business' beginnings in a Nissan hut with a coke furnace, foot bellows and a crucible in Williams back garden in Tudor Avenue, Preston. Since then the company has been through a lively sixty years, including seeing their premises go up in smoke. Despite this William Moore has remained strong and within the same family.

The website will allow the company to start trading nationally and it is expected that it will boost turnover and increase awareness of the business.
