ETHICAL JEWELLERY RANGE MAKES A SPLASH

A unique new range of jewellery, beautifully handcrafted in Brazil, is set to make a splash in the UK.

The exquisite jewellery, designed by L’atelier des Dames, is to be sold exclusively by online boutique, Chiffons et Breloques - who will be the first retailer in the UK to stock the new range.

The unique jewellery supports a community of women based in Cabo-Frio, Brazil, who make flowers by hand out of fish scales. The women collect the scales when their husbands return from a day’s fishing, before being recycled and transformed into flowers using natural colour dyes.

The flowers are then mounted onto jewellery, which is handcrafted by L’Atelier des Dames.

Rachel Davies, founder of Chiffons et Breloques, first saw the jewellery on a trip to Paris where she was sourcing new products.

“I am so thrilled to be able to offer this gorgeous range. I discovered the jewellery of L’atelier des Dames in Paris and when I learnt how each piece is produced, I just had to add it to my collection. Chiffons et Breloques offers finely crafted fashion accessories for women who want something beautiful and unique, and the new range fits in perfectly.” – Rachel said.

Chiffons-et-Breloques.com was founded in September 2010 to meet a demand for fine, quality, crafted fashion accessories.

Rachel added: “We always source jewellery from ethical suppliers wherever we can. As well as the new L’atelier des Dames pieces, we also sell silk handbags produced by Cambodian communities for Saffron Winds and La Vie Devant Soie.”
