Eco Firm Looks to a Bright Future
An innovative Midlands solar energy company has celebrated a bumper year after its expansion into new offices and the creation of new jobs.
More than 50 guests, including Wyre Forest MP Mark Garnier, joined Eco2Solar bosses to officially open its expanded base at Hoo Farm Industrial Estate, Kidderminster. The celebration included prominent members of the local business community and local public sector figures, who all got a chance to see inside the new, enlarged offices of the renewable energy solutions specialist.
The opening of the new base comes after Eco2Solar has seen sustained growth over the last year, despite the recession, with an extra 12 members of staff employed in the past 12 months. As a result, Eco2Solar quickly outgrew the former unit at Hoo Farm requiring more office and warehouse capacity.
When two adjacent units became available, Eco2Solar managing director Paul Hutchens wasted no time in making an offer for the additional space. The acquisition meant the unit expanded three-fold, providing much-needed space for the company’s expansion. Eco2Solar has ambitious plans to continue its recruitment drive long into the future.
Mark Garnier, MP for the Wyre Forest declared the new offices officially open with a short speech expressing his pleasure at seeing a local business performing so admirably in the current economic climate.
He said: “This type of alternative energy production is extremely important. It is great to see that we have a company in the centre of the Wyre Forest specialising in this area – making it relevant right here, right now. Businesses like Eco2Solar will make the difference as to how the economy grows in the future.”
Eco2Solar is one of the UK’s leading suppliers and installers of solar energy systems, which help reduce the carbon footprint of homes, offices, hospitals, universities, leisure centres, swimming pools, schools and businesses across the UK.
The company, formed in 2007 by Managing Director Paul Hutchens, has provided solar energy to almost 300 homes and 300 more sheltered housing and commercial buildings.
Mr Hutchens, said: “With Eco2Solar fast approaching their 320th domestic installation, along with all the social housing and large commercial projects where we have installed solar energy systems, we are confident that this success will continue long into 2011 and beyond.”
