E-Learning Serves Up Time and Cost Savings

One of the UK's leading health and safety training providers is helping its clients save time and money, with a new suite of online courses.

Imperative Online has been launched, in response to customer demand for a blended approach to food hygiene training, that is both time and cost-efficient. Imperative Training, the company behind the innovative platform says it will cut almost two-thirds off the cost of training.

Imperative Training Key Account Manager, Sarah Hallmark said: "Typically, online courses are 25-40 per cent of the cost of the same classroom course. For example, a traditional food hygiene course, with national accreditation, would cost approx £62 per delegate. The equivalent online course would cost only £22.50.

“That's 64 per cent cheaper as an e-learning course, and that's without taking into account the cost of employees being out of the workplace", she added.

Manchester-based Imperative Training believes that Food Hygiene is a perfect subject for e-learning, as it is a theory-based course, rather than practical. It also allows students to start the course anytime, anywhere; stop the course at any point and pick it back up at exactly where they finished last time.

Reflecting the diversity of nationalities working in the catering industry, the two-hour long course will initially be available in five languages, Polish, Russian, Latvian, Lithuanian, Urdu and of course English. Spanish, Italian and Portuguese versions are also being considered, in response to customer feedback.

Managing Director of Imperative Training, David Howarth, said: "In the current economic climate, there is a need to maintain high quality staff training, which meets the regulatory requirements for all food handlers to be suitably and sufficiently trained, whilst also reducing the cost of that training wherever possible."
