Daniel's dialing for success
A West Midlands entrepreneur who was made redundant earlier this year is already on the recruitment drive after launching his own telecoms business.
Daniel Alvarez (pictured) started Redditch-based LDL Business Solutions in September - just a month after his now defunct employer gave him his P45.
By migrating customers to his own company he is a year ahead of most start-up businesses and now looking to recruit a Customer Service Manager and a telesales person.
Mr Alvarez runs the business with Simon Bateman, who takes care of I.T and aims to grow the team to six by July next year with three sales people, an office manager, an internal account manager and another customer service agent.
Mr Alvarez who worked in the telecoms industry for 10 years, said he wants LDL to become the leading business solutions provider in the West Midlands within two years, with 2,000 mobile customers, and 200 landline and system customers.
The company - a one-stop shop for business mobile, landlines, phone systems, I.T. hosting and recycling - already has more than 200 mobile customers.
For the last four years Daniel worked at one of the UK’s leading independent mobile phone suppliers. When he was head-hunted by a rival he made the decision to leave, only for his new employer to fold in a matter of months.
He said: "While I was working for other people I was always looking to see what could be done to enhance the overall experience of the customer and with that in mind I set up LDL Business Solutions.
"We found a lot of small businesses could not compete with the competition on a technology front with the cost of buying servers and having people to maintain them. That’s where we step in, because we can supply big business solutions at small business prices."
