Curry Lovers Inspired by Lost Bride

Hundreds of couples will delight their loved ones this Valentine’s season at what is often referred to as, ‘The most romantic restaurant in London’.

Tower Tandoori’s reputation is built on the heartbreaking story of its founder and the mystery of his missing wife.

Back in 1948, Ali arrived in London and on a visit to Tower Bridge, fell in love with his future wife. After the couple had been married many years, Ali went back home for a short visit to see his family. Upon his return, Ali’s loving wife had vanished.

In 1978, as a tribute to his lost love, Ali opened Tower Tandoori and vowed to make the restaurant the place to take your London lovers.
In 1989 he passed on, having sadly never been reunited with his wife. However Ali’s son and grandsons continue to honour the restaurants founder’s love and legacy, and persist in searching for his beloved.

The restaurant’s romantic reputation is not only conceived because of this story. The rustic red furnishings and sensuous, bright, welcoming colours of Indian curtains and fabrics create the hot mood for love. All designed as a testament to the founder’s passion.
Tower Tandoori has always been the area’s most popular Valentines Day date for local couples and this year the restaurant will be hosting the much awaited ‘Season of Love’, which begins on February 1st and comes to an end on Valentines Day.
