Cookes are dressed for success as they host charity fashion show
A dazzling fashion show held at a top Birmingham furniture store helped raise money for soldiers fighting in Afghanistan.
Cookes Furniture store in Erdington, hosted the evening of glitz & glamour in support of the national charity Help for Heroes.
The event was organised by President of the Monrose Appeal, Jane Fraser-Cross, who used local shops and salons to help raise £1000, which was presented to two Coldstream Guards on the night.
“It was a splendid evening of fundraising, with style and glamour in abundance and held in such beautiful surroundings. I would really like to say a big thank-you to Cookes Furniture, for helping to make this happen and for all the people who turned up on the night”, said Jane.
The fashionable clothing worn on the catwalk was supplied by Birmingham based store Wardrobe, and gents’ clothing shop, Edge. Make-up on the night was handled by Esher-Marie and hair was styled by Trilogy Salon.
Over 50 people attended the event and 10 models took to the catwalk in the gorgeous clothing and accessories.
Local saxophonist, Mark Holley, provided the entertainment and prizes were up for grabs in the grand raffle.
Vanessa Hoe, Marketing Director at Cookes Furniture, added: “It was our pleasure to host this event for such a good cause. Jane is continuing to raise money for the Help for Heroes charity and Cookes Furniture will be more than happy to hold future events in the store.”
Cookes Furniture hosted the event on September 7 at its store on Goosemoor Lane, Erdington.
