Christmas comedy show is the real deal!

The UK’s biggest urban stand-up comedy tour is coming to Nottingham this Christmas.

The ‘Real Deal Comedy Jam Christmas Special’, showcasing the talents of urban comedy stand-up artists from all over the world, will be fronted by Choice FM presenter Richard Blackwood, who was formerly the star of his own Channel 4 series “The Richard Blackwood Show”.

Also amongst the line-up is Will-E Robo, star of the original hit US HBO series ‘Def Comedy Jam’, which provided the inspiration for business partners Nathan Wilkins, Damian Blackwood and Samuel Nelson to establish the ‘Real Deal Comedy Jam’ (RDCJ) in 2003.

The trio are delighted to be bringing the tour to Nottingham at the city’s ‘Glee Club’ on 29th December 2010.

Nathan Wilkins said: “We are really excited to be coming to the capital of the East Midlands. Nottingham is a really vibrant city with a great nightlife, so it’s a perfect fit for the RDCJ. We originally modelled the show on ‘Def Comedy Jam’, but it has rapidly developed its own image and identity. Our motto is to expect the unexpected. We want anyone attending our shows to feel like they are watching something truly unique”.

Other performers include Kevin J, who featured in BBC3 series “Are you fitter than a pensioner?” earlier this year, ‘Black Tie Comedy Award’ winner, ‘Slim’ and New York comedian, Kool Buba Ice, famed for his high-energy performances. Up-and-coming singer Bianca Simone will also be performing her latest single, “Pressure.”
