Charity Zumbathon for Local Hospice
Lovers of the new Latin dance-based exercise craze Zumba®, are being urged to take part in a charity Zumbathon® event, which is taking place in a Stevenage park.
Zumba® is the hottest new dance-based exercise to come over from America, based on fusing exercise and dance to Latin music.
The Zumbathon® event is taking place on July 2 at the Bandstand, in the beautiful Fairlands Valley Park.
It is being organised by Emma Ryan, a former professional dancer, who is now a local Zumba® dance teacher.
Emma wanted to organise an event for Zumba® enthusiasts of all ages and abilities, to have fun and raise money for a worthwhile cause in the process.
All money raised will go to Keech Cottage Hospice, which offers palliative care for both children and adults across Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire.
Emma is hoping to raise around £1000 for Keech Cottage Hospice, and is urging people to sign up for the event and help to reach her target.
“I want to get as many people taking part in the Zumbathon® as possible. Zumba® really is lots of fun,” said Emma.
“Hopefully everyone will have great fun dancing on the day in aid of a worthwhile local charity. So please sign up and come and join in the fun,” Emma added.
Participants will Zumba® for up to two hours in the beautiful surroundings of Fairlands Valley Park with the backdrop of the lake and park making it an ideal location.
The event, on July 2, will start at 4pm, and go on until 6pm - but would be participants need to sign up in advance at www.emma-zumba.co.uk. Cost per entry is £10 with all profits going to charity.
