Charity Taps Online Potential
A Wasall-based charity is helping the next generation of entrepreneurs tap into the expertise of fellow local business people.
Breathing Space, which aims to help start-up businesses, teamed up with Birmgham-based, Abel website builder, to offer a workshop on Monday July 25 to hopeful entrepreneurs.
An online presence is now a prerequisite for almost every business, and E-Commerce has become a key growth industry during the 21st century.
Therefore, this workshop was devised to show attendees how to design their own website.
As well as receiving a detailed explanation of how to set up a website using Abel website builder, participants then had the opportunity to create their own websites, using workstations provided by Breathing Space.
The workshop ran from 10am to 1pm, with those taking part able to learn all the essentials for a successful website.
Peter Mitchell, from Breathing Space, said:
“After seeing the Abel website builder product, we believed it would be a good addition to our current course. We've had a really positive response from people who have attended the session and there are going to be further sessions taking place later in the year.”
Among those taking part in the workshop was Paul Minamore, of Minatrans Courier Services:
“This course has been very helpful indeed. To be honest I'm not particularly good at using computers, but I've been able to follow through to set up a business website.
“It was quite straightforward. With this programme, anyone can set up their own business website," said Paul.
Breathing Space, based on Green Lane, Walsall, runs a self-employment programme six times a year, designed to be a practical guide to prepare people for self-employment.
The programme is open to anyone and lasts for six weeks, with no more than 15 hours per week.
