Business Event to Get Wales Online
Businesses in Wales have the chance to get ahead of the crowd, when an innovative Social Media conference takes place at the Vale Resort on 23rd May.
'What's Next? 2011' is a multi-seminar event that will focus on Social Media’s most popular platforms, aiming to address how businesses can turn the mass take-up of Linkedin, Twitter and Facebook, amongst others, to their advantage.
Global Social Media thought leaders are being assembled from the four corners of Britain as well as the USA, New Zealand and mainland Europe.
What's Next 2011? organiser, Allan Blair Beaton explained: "This event is not designed to teach businesses how to set up social media profiles, but rather how to use existing platforms in a more innovative fashion, to increase their online profile and traffic to their perspective websites."
Mr. Blair Beaton, who is also Managing Director of Cardiff-based Social B2B, was spurred into action, deciding to organise the event when the recent Google Boston report rated Wales as the lowest region in the UK for internet usage and access.
He continued: “Every day there are 900 million online searches via Google. 75% of those searches find socially generated content, so social media plays a vital role in increasing a business’ online presence, driving traffic to its website and ultimately, sales.”
During the day, delegates will be broken down into clustered groups, taking it in turns to attend talks, which cover Social Media monitoring, effective use of Linkedin, Facebook, Twitter, and video on the Web. Through this format, delegates will have the opportunity to engage with speakers on a personal level, in-keeping with the interactivity of Social Media.
"Many businesses are successfully implementing online marketing channels to reach new customers, engage with existing ones or simply sell their products. However, the constant evolution of online technologies means that many marketing departments or SME businesses are constantly behind the trends and playing catch up.
"This event will highlight techniques that will make a difference to how and why businesses use social media for better results", concluded Mr. Blair Beaton.
An estimated audience of 200 businesses will be in attendance on the day, making this by far the biggest and highest profile Social Media event ever hosted in Wales.
