Bright Sparks "Branded" for Success

CREATING a winning impression is the key to sales success for new entrepreneurs in today’s tough trading environment, it is claimed.

Making sure you stand out from the crowd is the top priority for any start-up business, according to graphic and marketing experts.

Rhondda-based Creative Services Ltd, an award-winning, multi-disciplinary team of experienced design consultants, admitted that kick-starting a new venture in troubled economic times can be a very daunting prospect.

But Managing Director, Gene Thompson said that the business, which has developed an impressive range of services, is convinced that people who take a professional approach to promoting themselves have the best chance of success.

“Starting a business during a recession is probably the best time to start. Your competitors are reducing their costs by cutting back on their marketing spend and your potential customers will be shopping around for the best value for money”, explained Mr Thompson.

“Many new business owners spend money on the wrong things – the most important aspect of any business is sales. Without adequate sales, your business will fail.

“With 80 per cent of customers deciding whether to buy from you, based on your brand image, this is a key area on which to focus your attention,” he added.

Creative Services, which started life in 1989 and is one of South Wales’ longest established design businesses, prides itself on its wealth of experience when it comes to developing and promoting a trustworthy, consistent brand image.

But Mr Thompson said that it is realised that people who are just starting out in businesses don’t have the sort of big budgets more usually associated with more established firms.
