Breakfast Down Under After Decade of Growth
A leading UK networking group is celebrating its tenth anniversary, by unveiling ambitious plans to expand globally.
Business for Breakfast (BforB), headquartered in Salford, Greater Manchester, has already expanded into the Czech Republic, and is now targeting Australia.
BforB is a UK networking group franchise, which has generated impressive growth since it was established in 2001, by Mel and John Fisher.
Mr Fisher said: “Our journey over the last 10 years has been an experience that we at BforB have enjoyed immensely. We have successfully expanded during a time of recession and can only put the credit down to teamwork and a strong belief in the system.”
The latest expansion plans were instigated earlier this year, when one of John and Mel’s long-term business contacts, David Sandelands, decided to emigrate to Brisbane with his family. When David mentioned his plans to Mel and John, they identified an opportunity for David to take the BforB business model to Australia.
As a result, BforB have now set up a company in Australia in partnership with David, backed by the government’s Passport to Export programme, which helps small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to develop export markets. David will head operations in Brisbane, with the aim of rolling out the BforB franchising concept ‘Down Under’.
Commenting on BforB’s global growth strategy, Mrs Fisher said: “Using the BforB franchise system and business referral system, we believe that David will create the perfect profile in Australia.
“The business people, professionals, and senior executives we are privileged to work with have all, in one way or another, contributed and supported us, helping to make BforB what it is today”, she added.
Following Australia, BforB plans to establish bases in Slovakia and Poland by the end of the year.
