Allports in the Driving Seat with £1million Contract Win
Midlands-based truck and trailer solutions specialist, Allports Group, is celebrating, after securing a contract worth over £1 million, to supply vehicles for a leading national retailer.
The firm, with premises in Lichfield and Stoke on Trent, is to deliver ten new vehicles to logistics specialist Downton Distribution, for use in its national distribution fleet for Pets at Home. This completes the latest order for 17 new vehicles.
The ten Renault Premium 460.25 6x2 tractor units will be decked out in the striking green Pets at Home livery and will replace older vehicles, making the now 35 vehicle fleet exclusively Renault. The vehicles are expected to cover in excess of 180,000km per year
Allports is supplying the vehicles with a three-year full repair and maintenance agreement, for which work will be carried out at the group’s Stoke on Trent service centre in Fenton.
Mark Sanders, Allports Group Managing Director, said: “We’re delighted to be working with Downtons. It’s a substantial contract win and really shows the strength of our offering. As well as the vehicles and maintenance agreement, we will be supplying driver training and an opti-fuel manager package, which provides detailed information on all the aspects of vehicle and driver performance, ensuring cost-effective operation throughout the contract's term.”
Steve Travis, Contracts Manager for Downtons, said: “The vehicles' excellent fuel consumption, reliability in operation and the local-partnership we’ve developed with Allports has resulted in this latest order for the supply and maintenance of the fleet. With the high standard of service Allports provides, we look forward to a long and successful partnership.”
