A-grade success at Cranbrook School
Pupils and teachers at Cranbrook School are celebrating after another round of excellent GCSE results.
This year, 88 per cent of GCSE pupils at the grammar school, in Ilford, achieved five or more A*- C grades, while 83 per cent attained five or more A*- C grades, including the all-important subjects of Maths and English.
Cranbrook high achievers included Alex Ravinranath, who came away with four A*s and four A grades, Daniaal Khan achieved four A*s and three As, and Owen Todd achieved three A*s and five As. All three achieved 10 GCSE passes over-all.
Owen, who has high of hopes to becoming a forensic scientist, said: “My 12 years at Cranbrook have seen many changes, but the teachers' pride in their work and their efforts to help us achieve the highest grades, has remained constant. My experiences will stand me in good stead in my new school.”
Cranbrook has gained a reputation for helping its pupils get the best possible results. The school puts its success down to small class sizes, a strong work ethic, good resources and high expectations of the pupils.
Headteacher, Ivan Mulinder, said: “Cranbrook is a school renowned for its focus on teaching and learning and traditional values. Yet again we have achieved excellent results in all key stages. We’ve seen particularly strong performances in maths, science and modern languages with these subjects achieving over 50 per cent A*- A grades.”
This years results are an improvement on last year, where 83% of students achieved 5 or above A*- C grades.
