A Delicious Race to the Finish for Roger

You only get out what you put in – and Roger Brown, from Cheshire, is hoping his diet will help him race to victory in the London Marathon next month.

He will join over 35,000 runners taking to the capital’s streets on April 17, as part of a 100-strong team raising money for the RNLI – the Royal National Lifeboat Association.

Following a skiing injury, Roger, who lives in Knutsford, was unable to continue his regime of exercise, so turned to Project Delicious to make sure he remained in top shape by maintaining a super-healthy diet. Project Delicious, an expert in personalised food, works with professional sports nutritionists to provide a service specifically for athletes, such as Roger Brown.

This year will be Mr Brown’s third marathon and to help him lose weight but maintain his energy levels, Cheshire-based Project Delicious will be preparing meals for Roger five days per week, in order to help him achieve his goals.

Using specially designed computer software to develop menus based on an individual’s needs, Project Delicious creates tasty and stimulating meals using high-quality, healthy and locally sourced fresh ingredients. Meals are handmade and delivered direct to the door.

This year, the RNLI is hoping to raise over £177,000 to support its volunteer lifeboat crews through their team efforts in the Virgin London Marathon 2011.

Roger Brown, who has previously raised over £20,000 for Cancer Search, said: “I thought this would be a good way to give something back as all may past fundraising was for cancer charities.

“Having had good results from Project Delicious before, I wanted to eat well during March to keep my energy levels up, and hopefully loose a few pounds ready for April.”
