A Claim to Fame for Top Yorkshire Insurance Broker

Leeds and Halifax-based Romero Insurance Brokers Limited has won the Independent Regional Insurance Broker of the Year Award 2011 at the Insurance Times Awards, hosted by Vernon Kay.

The prestigious industry award was presented to Romero’s Managing Director, Simon Mabb by TV presenter Vernon Kay, who is known for the TV show Family Fortunes and his radio programme on BBC Radio 1.

The glitzy award ceremony was held at Battersea Evolution in London, on December 5.

Romero’s latest achievement follows four years of awards success. In 2008 the company won the UK Broker Awards Claims Service of the Year, followed in 2009 by Customer Service of Year and in 2010 by the runner-up accolade in the UK Commercial Broker of the Year Awards.

Earlier in 2011 Romero won the Broker Claims Customer Care Initiative of Year Award.

Eric Galbraith, BIBA (British Insurance of Brokers Association) Chief Executive said: “Romero showed a real commitment to customer and claims service. They really stood out and deserve this year’s award.”

Commenting on the latest award, Simon Mabb said: “This is reflected in the awards we have won, and also in the training and development of our staff. Gwyn Evans has vividly illustrated this, aged 25, by making it through to the finals of the Insurance Times Young Broker of the Year 2011. Gwyn is a powerful example of what Romero is aiming to achieve.”
