Will my story get written?

Yes, in the majority of cases, stories submitted will be written by our journalists and forwarded to you for your approval. Dedicated journalists at Pr2Go assess every story submitted with the aim to get the very best from each and produce news worthy content. Content that is deemed abusive or is illegal in any way will not be written.  Also, if you story will be out of date by the time it is likely to be published, eg. If the event you wish to publicise is the following day, we will cancel your order and not take payment because it would be impossible to get your story to the press in time. Pr2Go have a duty of care to all customers and therefore if our expertise and experience highlights to us that your story will not be published, we will contact you via email to let you know that you have not been charged and we would not continue with your process.

What happens if I have no photo to upload?

If you haven't got a suitable photo to upload we will still write your story and submit it using the same criteria as if it did include a photo.  It is worth mentioning that with all PR stories a photo really adds to the overall impact. Editors look for stories with photos as they do compliment the context and draw the attention of readers.

How do I know if my photo is suitable?

The choice of photo you upload is down to you.  Photos with people are popular as it provides a personal touch, however if the photo links in with your story that is all you need. At pr2go, we recommend the photo is portrait (vertical) as it fits better with newspaper columns, however landscape is ok too.  We will also mention here that as with the content of your story, if photos are offensive in anyway pr2go will not submit your story to the media. Photos should not be more than 1MB and preferably in a jpeg format as they may distort or fail to upload.

What is the story template?

When you have approved your final story, you will be sent an email from pr2go with an attachment. The attached document contains your story set out in the style of a newspaper; this will include your photo if you have chosen one, or our standard image if not. We also list the media where your story has been sent. You can then print this attachment and keep it as a record – or you can frame it for your customers to see!

Can I amend my story once I have submitted it?

Once our dedicated journalist has written your story, you will receive email confirmation with an attachment in the form of a newspaper page. Your story will be within the document for you to check and send back with your approval. We would ask that you take time to ensure that all names, telephone numbers, email addresses and any other factual information are correct. You do have the opportunity for one further set of amends but these are to specific words and not to the entire story as a whole. If you are unhappy with the content of your written story please contact us at customerservices@pr2go.com or call 0844 826 4277 and let us know.

I have been asked to pay a ‘repro charge’ – What is it? Is it included in the price?

Some publications that print in colour charge for ensuring print quality of photographs and images. Unfortunately Pr2go's fees don't cover any repro or additional charges from the media. If a publication sends you a charge, our advice would be that you do pay as it is a guarantee you will appear in their publication.

What payment do you accept?

You can pay for your story using a debit or credit card. We accept Mastercard, Maestro, Visa, Visa Electron, Solo and JCB.  If you are on a subscription package this is by bank standing order taken monthly from your account on either the 1st or 15th of the month.

Can I cancel my order on PAYG?

No, after your order has been submitted it will be worked on by our team and therefore is chargeable.

How do I know if my story is newsworthy?

We recommend that you imagine you know nothing about your business or the details of the story you have and think of it as if you were reading it online or in the press – you have to ask yourself if you would find it interesting without any other knowledge, if you think 'yes' you would be interested, then great, send it to us. This can be difficult, but go to our 'Tips and resources' section for more advice on how to get the best from your story.

Is my story good enough?

You can email all stories to us before you submit details to discuss with the pr2go team or get clarification. If you have already submitted your story detail and it isn't quite up to scratch, we'll call or email you to see if between us we can tweak it a little. We have a system at pr2go to measure all stories before they are written. Journalists grade the stories from 1 to 10 against criteria that editors look out for. If a story submitted falls below 6 out of 10, we take a judgment and aim to find out more information.  As the customer we will call you to get a bit more detail to write your story in the best way possible.

How many words should I use?

When our journalist writes the story into a press release format ready to be sent to the media, it is approximately between 300 and 500 words.  Therefore we ask that you complete the form using the box sizes as a guide so we have enough detail to give to the assigned journalist.

What makes pr2go different from PR agencies?

pr2go is unique in that it is the only PR service offering the writing and distribution of stories for such cost effective pricing structures.  We have taken a 'no frills' approach, meaning we simply take the information surrounding your story, have it professionally written in media-ready format and distribute it to ALL relevant publications.  We don't do idea generation (but will help guide story content), we won't take you for lunch (although you may like a coffee with us at an exhibition), we won't chase your stories (but we'll give you the contacts for where we've sent it so you can if you like). For more details call the team on 0844 826 4277.
